THE HORSEMEN’S ASSOCIATION OF MILLSTONE TOWNSHIP

Our association began in the spring of 2000 for the purpose of getting together with others who share the same common interest … that being the LOVE of the horse, to further our Equine Education and having FUN!! 

Our meetings are held on the THIRD Tuesday of each month (no meeting in July).  They begin at 7:00 pm in the Millstone Township Community Center, 463 Stagecoach Road, Clarksburg (located between the Clarksburg Inn and the Fire Station). 

MEMBERSHIP DUES:  $25.00 Family Membership, $20 Single Adult, $10.00 Jr. Membership (under 18)

You DO NOT have to own a horse in order to become a member BUT you MUST be a member in order to participate in any HAMT trail rides or HAMT events. 

Listed below are various things HAMT has done in the past several years.

  • We have had several educational speakers such as veterinarians, farriers, equine insurance reps, sports medicine therapist, nutritionist, horse trainers, tack fitting demos and much more.
  • Participated in six Memorial Day Parades in Millstone and one parade in Allentown.
  • Participated in eight annual Millstone Day events.
  • Our group has gotten together on numerous trail rides at such locations as the Assunpink Wildlife Preserve, Valley Forge, Monmouth Battleground, Allaire State Park, Clayton Park, Lebanon State Park, Island Beach, Baldpate Mountain, Colliers Mills, etc.  We’ve also participated in several hunter paces sponsored by other horse organizations.  Tailgates follow many of our trail rides. 
  • Participated in numerous team penning clinics.
  • Participated in several “just for fun” gymkhana’s.
  • Held a HAMT Horse Show.
  • Held seven Halloween “costume” trail rides with tailgate afterwards.
  • We’ve carpooled to several events, i.e. Horse Expos in N.J. & PA., Cowtown Rodeo, Medieval Times, etc.
  • We’ve enjoyed nine annual Christmas/Holiday parties.
  • HAMT is responsible for creating and implementing New Jerseys first 25 MPH Speed Limit Sign designed to protect horse and rider on the roadways.       

**Our meetings always end with cake, coffee and soda for a time of socialization, meeting new people, seeing our friends and catching up on the latest horse news**

We have numerous events planned for 2009 including many “fun” trail rides, gymkhanas, team penning clinics, presentations by various equestrian speakers and horse related functions we attend as a group.
